How about an update? Sure!
It's been a bit from my last update so there's a few things to go over. First of which was a severe electrical issue that cropped up. I was fortunately able to get that remedied and once again have a safely operating vehicle. I do still have an issue with the tail lights working properly. I'm pretty sure most of this is just due to the sockets being corroded.
I installed the new wheels and tires and I've been driving the car for a bit trying to sort those
I'm still clearencing a bit on the wheels, but it's rub free for most types of driving. I'm just having issues on deep undulations. This is to be expected when you lower a car a good 3"
Anyway, the next step after figuring out the tail lights is to start putting the interior back together, passenger side door handle, alignment, tune up etc. Probably a month away from plating it.

Man I've always liked these so much better than the same gen Camaros.
Looks great man, keep at it.
So nice to be able to take them out again isn't it?!

This is one of the best looking years for this car.

Or in general. It's taken me 16 years to get this car to a point where I could drive it a mile to a parking lot just for the sake of taking a few pictures. I'm incredibly glad I never gave up on the project, it's starting to become extremely fulfilling!

A lot of people are partial to the wider and sharper 67-68 beak, but I have to agree with you. Although lets face it, I'm also biased.

Keeeeeeeep on going, nothing will be better than this being done.
Never sell it.
I wish all the time I had my first truck back because I built it by hand with my dad. Worst money I ever made selling that truck.

Imagine a tiny me, trying to drag my father over to a line of shiny new '69 Camaros, trying, in my then-limited English, to make him buy one. They even had two in his favorite color (the old man was color-blind, but tell him that). Instead, he walked into Jack Amatucci Chevrolet and ordered yet another in a series of Impalas. With no A/C. And black vinyl interior. And no power brakes. You get the idea. Cheap bastard.
Neighbor down the street brought home a '69 Firebird maybe a year later. I loved it as well. Either car would have been fine.
And yes, I had to use a car with no A/C to date. In DC. During the summer.

Yeah, one of the reasons I've kept on going is because of the sentimental value wrapped up in my time with it. My dad and I tore it apart together. I've been slowly putting it back together from that point on. It was an education by fire I guess you can say.

This car actually did come from the factory with AC. Even though it was the 350 Coupe trim level, it was fairly high optioned for that trim.
I myself have never been much of a user of the AC systems in the cars, so when I purchased this and half of the system was missing, I didn't have any qualms about tearing the rest of it out. I may look into a vintage air system for it at some point however.

Sometimes, it's the best education. I've had plenty of "Oh shit I've gone too far! Whelp, I guess it's time to figure it out and make it work or I'm screwed so.....get to work" moments.
There's a tie in with the Montego most don't realize for me.
I started the search for a 1970 Ford Torino (preferably red) with a 351Cleveland, my dad used to be a semi-pro drag racer in one. I found a screaming deal on the Montego (red and sibling car of the Torino) and had to go for it. Smaller engine, different family engine (Windsor instead of Cleveland) but at least it's red and had the same transmission (C4) haha.

The reason the Supreme Court leaves DC in May and doesn't come back until the first week in October is because A/C was invented until long after 1789. It's a fucking swamp.

Yeah we don't have the humidity here in Colorado. Typically only about 35% or so during the summer.
